Avantek, a leader in consumer electronics and accessories, for a while now have been making quality TV antennas that are favorable among many cord cutters around the world. One of their earlier lines of TV antennas, The AR Line, comes in 3 models, the AR-F12, the AR-F13 and the AR-F14, all comes with a 50 mile range and signal boosters. The older models, The AR-F10 and the AR-F11 have been key entry level models that are still popular these days for some.
Between these lines, Avantek also came out with a series of Ultra Thin Indoor Amplified Antennas which resembles the Avantek AR-F13 Antenna. However, there's several key differences with this series. One of the standout features within these Ultra Thin Antennas is the transparent material used in the design of the antenna that exposes the internal component strip which gives it its' unique look.
Also, consumers have a choice of 2 colors, Black or White, while also being able to chose between the 30 mile range model or the 50 mile range model. Another popular lineup of models is the "AR Line" of indoor antennas that includes the "the Avantek AR 41, the Avantek AR 51 and the Avantek AR 53" which are all unique in their design scheme and features.
The Avantek AR 41 Amplified Indoor Antenna is a fairly OK model within the lineup but still packs some great features. The Avantek AR 41 comes in a sleek and smooth all black compact pole design profile not much similar to any of their other models and also allows the antenna to mix into its' surroundings, blending in with your other electronics and accessories.
It is small, compact, lightweight and is perfect for portable TVs and USB DTV tuners. One great feature about this Avantek antenna is that you can easily carry it in your laptop bag or TV case without worrying about extra weight or space. Signal wise, it comes with a fair reception range for its similar range counterparts.
The Avantek AR 41 Antenna, like its sister models, has a 50 mile range reception and comes with a built in amplifier, allowing you to pick up all of your local and many of the top HD channels in your area. Like all amplified antennas, the Avantek AR 41 give you more boost for a broader reception range, providing you with crystal clear HDTV channels. The amplifier filters out cellular and FM signals and suppresses RF noises to provide the best TV-watching experience. This particular model, the Avantek AR 41 is a UHF Aerial antenna.
The Good
The Avantek AR 41 mid range antenna have some good features about with a lot of mix reviews. First off, it is a small, compact and lightweight HDTV antenna, and is perfect for portable TVs to travel around with. It has a simple yet cool pole looking design to it that allows it to blend in with your other electronics around your entertainment area.
As with the older line up of Avantek Antennas, you will still see particularly favorable reviews for these antennas, this being within some of their least favorable out of the entire lineup, but still does the job for many. Although this is a mid-range antenna and works best for those living in the city area and surrounding rural areas, consumers who have purchased this product reported receiving reception further than 50 miles away and in some cases, some reported receiving 20+ channels in some markets.
The Bad
Like its' sister models, there's not much bad other than the fact that the reception range, 50 miles, may not be enough to pick up channels in some areas. The built in amplifier may not work for some people in many cases so you will see mix reviews about this which is probably due to several factors, like its' design.
It's a compact indoor antenna which is not running much power so in some cases, you will find that this antenna doesn't pack enough power to pull in very weak signals so it is best to make sure you get the right type of aerial for your area. Overall, this being a fair antenna, the only overall bad is the amount of juice this antenna packs to pick up quality signals.
