The Roku Streaming Media Players are some of the best streaming media players out right now and has been for a long time. Ever since their first model, the Roku 1, the company Roku, Inc has continued to upgrade their streaming media player with new features and technologies that keeps millions of people entertained everyday.

Between 2013 and 2015, Roku released their all new line of Roku Players 1 thru 4 that were released in their Third and Forth Generations of Roku Players. The Roku Streaming Stick is the only model that is wireless, only having to plug it into your TVs HDMI port. The others models use a HDMI cord for TV connectivity along with the Roku 1, which has both Composite and HDMI inputs.

Model Comparisons

The Roku HD, XD and the XS are all discontinued models including all of the first and second generation Roku players but are still available for sale on many retailers sites. All of the software and channel updates to the first and second generations but existing channels will continue to operate as long as the channel owner continues to update them.

All of the Roku models have built in Wi-Fi so no need for additional wires but with the Roku 2 and Roku 3 you have the option of using the Ethernet ports in case you want the wired route. Another feature among all of the Roku models is that they all have HDMI inputs and as with the streaming sticks, it plugs right into any TV with a HDMI input.
